Big data institute for police to be built in Wuxi

The Research Institute of Big Data for Wuxi Police was inaugurated in Wuxi, Jiangsu province on Aug 24.

The institute is founded by Wuxi Public Security Bureau and the Inspur Group, a leading service provider of cloud computing in China.

The local public security bureau will establish a big data for the police with features of Wuxi, and upgrade its crime prevention and control system by using the group's talents and advanced technologies, including big data, cloud computing and the Internet of Things.

Xie Xiaojun, head of Wuxi Public Security Bureau, affirmed the Inspur Group's strengths, advantages and experience in providing cloud consulting, planning and constructing for the police.

Xie hopes that the institute will improve their capacity in cracking down crimes, managing the society, and serving the public.

Both sides will make full use of their sources, technologies, talents and the IT achievements of big data, cloud computing and IoT from the Inspur Group in a bid to upgrade the local police work, according to Xie.

Wang Baihua, CEO of the Inspur Group, said that this cooperation marks a beginning point for creating a smart police based on big data and cloud computing.

He added that the group will combine its advanced technologies with Wuxi's IoT resources to provide information support for fighting crimes, maintaining public security, dispatching police, combating terrorism, and serving the public so as to make contributions towards creating a safe Wuxi.
