IoT helps intelligent electric power control in Wuxi
Boer Power Holdings Ltd based in Wuxi, Jiangsu province has developed an electric power control system, successfully realizing intelligent operations and maintenance of power equipment.
With over 30 years of experience, Boer is a leading company in China's electric distribution equipment and solutions market.
Applying internet of things (IoT) technologies, the system works by installing sensors and monitoring software in the company's key energy nodes, so as to quickly gather key data, provide immediate alerts for equipment failures and accurately resolve problems.
With this system, operations and maintenance staff can know the operating conditions of the power system through digital inspection, greatly reducing manpower costs.
In addition, the system can generate energy consumption analysis, helping companies save energy.
Boer's intelligent electric power control system was named one of Wuxi's top 10 IoT applications in 2016 by the local government.
The system has been used in more than 3,000 companies, and the figure is expected to exceed 100,000 in the future, according to Wang Zhengshan, technical director of the company.
Except in industry, Boer is now extending the application of the system to areas including smart homes, new energy automobiles, and medical care.
