In promotion of the internet of things (IoT) industry, every August 7 has been named World Internet of Things Day, according to the news conference held in Beijing on June 25.

Relying on advanced IoT foundation and prospect, Wuxi participated in the establishment of World Internet of Things Day, taking hands with the China Communication Industry Association and 103 domestic and abroad enterprises.

World Internet of Things Day takes serving the public as its tenet, developing science and technology as its task, and accelerating the development of the internet of things (IoT) industry and enhancing the level of IoT applications as its aim.

According to the introduction, the participating enterprises will organize all kinds of IoT related activities every August 7.

Alibaba Cloud has decided to host the 2018 Geek Experience Innovation Challenge during this year's World Internet of Things Day. The Alliance of Sensing China, the Fujian Provincial Commission of Economy and Information Technology and the people's government of Mawei district of Fuzhou, Fujian province will co-organize the Cross-Straits Internet of Things Application Innovation and Start-up Competition as well.
