Wuxi in East China's Jiangsu province established an industrial big data center recently, the first of its kind in a prefecture-level city across the country.

The center was co-built by the local bureau of industry and information technology, the local big data administration, and the Wuxi Internet of Things Innovation Promotion Center. It features a big data resource management and service system integrating data aggregation, mining, exchange, and application capabilities.

It targets industrial and information technology companies, mainly in eight key industrial chains, to realize comprehensive monitoring of industrial elements, intelligent analysis of industrial agglomeration, dynamic update of industrial maps, as well as precise matchmaking of industrial services.

It provides operational monitoring, enterprise evaluation, energy services, as well as consumption control and digital transformation solutions to governments, industrial parks, and enterprises.

The center has had access to about 320 million information items from more than 80,000 industrial and information technology companies in Wuxi so far, according to the Wuxi Internet of Things Innovation Promotion Center.

The information items include those related to the industrial economic operation of a city (county, district), industrial taxation, industrial sales, electricity consumption, as well as the development of industrial clusters.

The center has been connected to mainstream industrial internet platforms like Hanyun and Inspur, aiming to develop into a comprehensive online big data platform to support the digital transformation of manufacturing enterprises in the city.
