Wuxi promotes IoT's application in healthcare

Wuxi held the launch ceremony of AstraZeneca China Commercial Innovation Center on June 28, Wuxi Daily reported.

The commercial innovation center, located in Wuxi National Hi-tech District (WND), is expected to promote innovation in the health industry and Internet of Things (IoT)-based healthcare. It aims to increase the speed of incubation and practice of healthy innovation projects, integrating cross-domain resources to form a medical ecosystem focused on patient benefits, in a bid to promote and accomplish the goal of a "Healthy China".

AstraZeneca, together with 30 other partners, has applied IoT technology to various theranostics projects, engaging and combining focus on respiration, cardiology, metabolism, oncology and gastroenterology, which are the most urgent needs of Chinese patients. Some of the projects have already been applied in hospitals in Wuxi, improving the medical standards of the city and accelerating the application of IoT in the health industry.

The launch of the center not only promoted the construction of the medical IoT demonstration base of WND, but also set up a new benchmark for IoT’s R&D and application, according to a WND government official.

WND has devoted itself to promoting and applying IoT's R&D, and has attracted leading giants to settle down the district.
