2017 World IoT Technology Competition launched in Wuxi

The 2017 World Internet of Things Technology Competition kicked off at the Wuxi National Sensing Innovation Demonstration Park on July 4, Wuxi Business Daily reported.

The competition, as a part of the 2017 World Internet of Things Exposition, is aimed at encouraging students and startups to learn about IoT technology and devote themselves to the application of IoT to promote Wuxi’s IoT industry.

Contestants are required to submit design reports and prototype systems in the fields of smart homes, agriculture, healthcare, safety and environmental protection.

The competition is divided into two groups, primary and secondary school students as well as university students and startups respectively. Many awards have been set for finalists, with the highest prize reaching 50,000 yuan ($7,358).

The competition is sponsored by China Mobile’s Wuxi branch. Wuxi's IoT public cloud platform, OneNET, will serve as the exclusive platform for the contest.
