A launch ceremony for WisdomBay Town was held on Sept 9, marking a new cooperative relationship between Wuxi municipal government and China Electronics Technology Group Corporation (CETC).

The WisdomBay Town project will be a new part of CETC’s internet of things (IoT) business, and it will focus on the hardware problems in the perceptual layer of the IoT industry.

Later in the day, the signing and launch ceremony for WisdomBay Town’s key projects was also held, with Li Qiang, Party Chief of Jiangsu, heading the government delegation. Xiong Qunli, Chairman of CETC also attended.

Li Qiang expressed his thanks for CETC’s long-standing support for Jiangsu’s development, and praised the all-round strategic IoT cooperation between Wuxi and CETC, during his meeting with Xiong Qunli.

As Jiangsu is in its critical stage of transition and development, the government has high hopes for the prospects of the IoT industry. And Jiangsu, especially Wuxi, has been prioritizing the development of the IoT industry since the first World Internet of Things Expo held in Wuxi last October. Jiangsu Provincial Government fully supports the agreement between Wuxi and CETC and expects further and deeper relationships in more fields, Li said.

Jiangsu has a solid industrial foundation, which has laid a positive environment for the IoT industry, according to Xiong. CETC will take the agreement as a new starting point, making best use of its advantages and actively participating in Jiangsu’s economic development, he claimed.

Established in 2002, CETC is one of the 26 wholly State-owned high-tech enterprises in China and plays a leading role in the IoT industry. Its business covers communications equipment, computers, electronic equipment, software development, research services, investment and asset management for civil and military applications.
