2018 WIOT to kick off in one month

The launching ceremony of the WIOT (World Internet of Things Expo), focused on its special metro services, collaborative media platforms and mascot, was held in the Sanyang Plaza Station of Wuxi metro on Aug 21.

Scheduled for Sept 15 to 18, this year's World Internet of Things Expo will include one main summit, one IoT application and production exhibition, 10 high-end forums and 16 series of events. The number of activities and participants will exceed those of last year.

In order to better promote the expo, key media, including people.cn, xinhuanet.com, chinadaily.com.cn, tencent.com and sina.com, introduced columnists to showcase the highlights of the 2018 WIOT and display the rapid development of IoT technologies and applications in Wuxi with all kinds of new media.

"Wu Xiao Lian", the mascot of this year's World Internet of Things Expo, is a cute robot in blue and white. It will serve as a "waiter" to introduce new technologies, products and smart models during exhibitions.

In addition, two special trains themed on the World IoT Expo are to run in Metro Lines 1 and 2 for over one month. A total of 4,000 commemorative specialized metro tickets have been published as well.

The World Internet of Things Expo, having been held for two years and become China's top Internet of Things (IoT) event, will showcase the latest products, advances, models and development trends related to the IoT.

The world's first city-level Internet of Vehicle LTE-V2X (vehicle to everything) application demonstration area will also be officially presented to the public during the September event.
