WIOT expo awards applications and products

Themed on the "Digitalized new economy, IoT-driven new times", the award ceremony for outstanding new technologies, products and applications related to internet of things (IoT) was held in Wuxi, Jiangsu province, on Sept 15.

Featuring latest IoT applications and products, the 2018 World Internet of Things Exposition is underway in Wuxi from Sept 15 to 18.

More than 2,000 representatives attended the award ceremony, including academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering, well-known entrepreneurs and company executives, college students taking part in the design program of IoT competition.

With the support of renowned domestic and foreign industry leaders, a total of 1,128 projects have been collected since this May, 61 of which were awarded, including intelligent manufacturing, transportation, energy, industrial security and other core technologies on intelligent hardware terminals, sensors and management platforms.

As one of the spotlight of 2018 World IoT Expo, the world's first city-level internet of vehicles LTE-V2X project was honored with the special award. Its supporting organizations, including China Mobile Group, Huawei Technology, Traffic Police Division of Wuxi Municipal Public Security Bureau, China Academy of Information and Communications Technology and Jiangsu Tianan-Net Science and Technology, were praised for their achievements to change people's lifestyle.

Gartner, a world-renowned consulting firm, issued a report on the internet of thing's promotion of the digitalized new economy. The report showed that the technological maturity of IoT could be related to all kinds of specific applications.

Moreover, not only IoT technologies such as AI and big data could influence its development, but also related laws and the awareness of society, said the report.
